Task was so make a short self portrait animation.
I believe in order to grab and keep the audience’s attention art needs to be unexpected. People are intrigued when they see something out of the ordinary and are more likely to remember it.
I wanted to create a pattern that was out of the ordinary. It was recognizable but also surprising.
I played with the idea of aging and how every person is constantly in a threshold.
Learning hand drawn animations - I played around with different animal movements.
Modeled after Lester Beall's poster Running Water. I used all the same elements from the original poster and created 50 different versions.
Pareidolia is the imagined perception of a pattern or meaning where it does not actually exist. As artists we believe that everything is meant to be something and that something is waiting to be unveiled. Walking around the world our minds are constantly reorganizing objects to make a new undiscovered species or pattern.
I took uber pool to school everyday - so I created a puzzle that showed my commute.
